Shanti is the (from Sanskrit शान्तिः śāntiḥ) means peace, rest, calmness, tranquility, or bliss. In Hinduism, Buddhism, and other spiritual traditions, it is often chanted three times consecutively during prayers or meditations to invoke peace in body, speech, and mind. These "Peace Mantras", Hindu prayers or sacred utterances believed by practitioners to have religious, magical or spiritual powers that induce inner peace, a state of being mentally and spiritually at peace, with enough knowledge and understanding to keep oneself strong in the face of discord or stress.
